8K Not reconnecting

Hey all,

I'm running a full boar with 3.2.2 and a DP8K. Twice now I've had the network cable unplugged and when I re-connect, the yellow warning triangle does not go away, and the playback faders either freeze, or the outputs freeze. I need to re-boot the console get get back running 100%. Shouldn't it reconnect like it did before the upgrade? (The desktop also crashed once as well. I've had a few scary moments with 3.2.?, on a few different shows. Still seems pretty shaky to me.)

  • In older versions, the DP would automatically reset when it re-established communication with a server. This could lead to unexpected (and undesirable) lighting changes changes on stage.

Now, when a node loses communication with its server, it will continue operating as much as the current communication allows. You can run cues and keep the show going. Then, at a convenient point (intermission, etc.) you can manually rejoin nodes to bring them back into a consistent state.

When you see the yellow icon, the first thing to do is open the network window. This will tell you exactly what the problem is. Nodes that have a problem will be highlighted in red. Simply right-click the node and reset it.
