Clean, Clean install

I'm running 3.1.9 on a Hog 3 and want to do a Clean Install(of 3.1.9). If I want to make sure I wipe everything clean do I need to clean install 3.0 then 3.1.9. Just to make it clear: I want to reinstall every piece of the operating system possible.
Thanks in advance

  • Anytime you do a "Clean Install" using the ISO file burned onto CD you completely wipe everything (including the OS).

As an easy not-so-technical way to think about it is:
ISO files are "disk image" files, think of one as a giant rubber stamp.
When you run the utility fromthe BIOS, it first erases the console HDD to a "blank state" like a clean sheet of paper.
Then the "disk image" from the CD is "stamped" onto the blank HDD.

So if you do a "Clean Install" of 3.1.9 using the ISO burned onto CD you will be good to go.

You can download the 3.1.9 ISO file from the software archive here:

And if you've never burned an ISO to CD, be sure to read this:

    Hope this helps. :)
