problems connecting pc to ipc

i havea ipc version 3.2.3 the on pc version is the same.
the pc gets it ip fromtheipc dhcp server.

now trying to connect the pc version the following appears on the screen:

Scanning for show on port 6600
Loading show database

then a popup window appears:

show database init failure

please help

What is the network topography? Is there possibly another dhcp server on the network?

no other devices in the network.
ipc and pc are connected with a cross over cable.

the pc gets an ip from the dhcp server on the ipc

i have tested now with static ips and deactivated all firewalls and virus scanners.
but i get the same errors.

i have just discovered a new thing:

on the ipc i see the tx packet count increasing but the rx packet count stays at zero.

should the ipc react on a ping?
my ipc is not pingable.

ok problem solved.
the ethernet port on the mainboard was faulty.
with a new mainboard all is fine now
