Hog3PC hangs when strking lamps on Win7

Hi,

I'm helping out one of our local theaters. Their old WinXP lighting computer fried and they replaced it with a new Windows 7 PC.

They are connected via a POET interface box.

Sometimes when striking the lamps the Hog3PC appears to hang. Rebooting sometimes helps but last night it took several tries before we were able to get things going.

This is with the latest version of Hog3PC downloaded a couple of days ago.

No Anti-virus running, and supposedly Hog3PC is set to run as administrator, and as mentioned most of the time everything, including striking the lamps, appears to work just fine.

Any suggestions on where to look for the possible problem?

Thanks,
Burt

  • I'll get more details later, but we think that we have determined the root cause of the problem.

The newly hired sound/light tech (who just quit) was apparently not hitting clear before entering the lamps to be struck. At least that has appeared to make it work reliably at this point.

I'll be testing it more over the next couple of days and will have more feedback (either that this was the cause of the problem, or that the problem still exists and I'll have more details about the hardware interface).

    Thanks,
    Burt
