Not sure exactly what your issue is from your vague description, but try this:
Make sure all your network settings are set to defaults. Launch a new show on your desk with the DP powered off. Once loaded, hold down the buttons on the front of the DP while you power it up. You should see something like "forcing software reload" on the screen of the DP-8000.
