I have a new question related to the old one:
How do I update the software on a Smartfade 2496 to v3.0?
The software update is on the ETC website here:
You'll need to download the file "Smartfade Software v3.0.2"
The installation instructions are included in the ZIP file.
You will need a 'standard' SD card (so one smaller than 2GB).
If you don't have one of those, you can also do the update with a USB A to B cable and a Windows 7 PC.
(Windows 8 and 10 may also work but haven't been tested.)
