I just saw that a new version of software for the SmartFade has been released. It addresses some bug issues including my 12/96 preview issue; yeah!
In attempting to load the software, I first tried to use the SD card method. I never did get it to work. I ended up using the USB method with great success. Just for the record, I did/verified the following when attempting the SD method:
- card was formatted to FAT16
- .SRC file was in the root of the card. In fact it was the only file
- the card is a 2GB one normally used quite successfully for show files on this console
- tried loading with the file in the release package named SMARTFADE_171.SRC
- tried renaming the file to SMARTFADE.SRC which the manual calls out
All attempts resulted in the error "FILE NOT FOUND" on the console. As I said earler, the USB method worked fine, but the issue may be worth exploring and I would like to know if anyone has had success with the SD method.
