Tap Mode Setting

I've recently discovered the manual chase mode on the console.  Now, what is the purpose and fuction of the Tap Mode setting under the timing section?  By default it appears to be off.

An issue I ran into was this.  While working two chases manually, I wanted to add in a third chase that's in a loop.  In trying to set the rate for the looped chase, the two manual chases launched off on the same bpm (of which I had trouble clearing but eventually managed it somehow.)

As the show progressed I went looking for a way to override the setting of having the manual chases pick up on the rate change.  This is when I saw the "Tap Mode".  On the fly, I set them to ON.  I have no idea what effect that had.  Can someone please elaborate on this setting?

Thank you.

Mike

  • Tap to the music!

Set the speed a chase by tapping the bump button. This is especially useful for matching what the band happens to be playing. The system will smooth out your "inaccuracies" in rhythm, so you can even use it during a song if the pace changes.

For details I strongly recommend the manual for whichever console you have  ;-)
