SmartFade ML Won't Recognize SD Card

It's a brand new SD card that's been formatted (not a Quick Format) to FAT with the default size allocation.

When I try to save a show to the card, I get the message "ERROR NO CARD".

The card is definitely fully inserted.

Any ideas?

I'd guess that you've got an "SDHC" card.

SD and SDHC cards physically the same size and look almost identical, but they are completely different internally.

SmartFade only supports "SD Cards".

Where would I find a plain SD card? I seem to only find SD micro and SDHC. Thanks!

Hi Haley,

lots of places - electronics stores - drugstores - camera stores.

Here was a quick look on Amazon:

Important is: you need to look for 2GB or less. Everything above that is SDHC.

Hi -

SDHC is supported in the latest software (but not in earlier versions). Be aware that 2GB SD cards are the most counterfeited generally and not all of them work. Almost any other size of SD or SDHC should work with version 3.0.2.

Does the v 3.0.2 stil supports 16MB SD cards... those do not seem to work?

Yes those cards should still work fine. I would check that the card is formatted correctly, if not, I recommend contacting technical services for further support.
