We have opened the beta test period for SmartSoft/SmartFade/SmartFade ML v3.0.1 software. This version includes new features and fixes, listed below. If you are a registered forum user and you are logged in, you should be able to see the beta forum listed below the SmartFade forum in the Control Consoles Forums List. The beta software is available to any registered user. Support for users of the beta software is handled through that forum ONLY. Use of beta software on live shows is done at your own risk.

Support for HCSD memory cards for show file storage.
The file structure that SmartFade/ML consoles can read requires that there be "few" file names in the root directory of these large capacity memory cards. The best scenario is to keep show files in the root directory and other files on the card in folders, reducing the number of file names the SmartFade must navigate. Shorter file names are also better for performance with SmartFade/ML consoles. For best performance, we recommend keeping your show file names to 8 characters if possible (which ensures you can read the whole file name on the display of your console).
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not possible to update console software using HCSD card - only classic (low capacity) SD cards or connection to a PC can be used to update software on the consoles themselves.
