DMX IN

Hello,

I have the Smartfade 1248 control desk, and I also downloaded the SF virtual controler, Is the "dmx in" function used to drive the virtual controler? If so, how do I get my pc connected to the actual desk?

The DMX input is just for the backup function.

Use a USB printer type cable to work with a PC. Remember that in that arrangement the desk is always in charge, the PC just tells it what to do. That's so PC issues won't cause trouble with the show.

I believe the software manual comes with the download. It's worth the time to look it over.

Just to add to RickR's reply, the "Virtual Controller" you want is "SmartSoft".

- Before SmartSoft there was a "Virtual SmartFade" application, you don't want that as it's very out of date now.
