The other option I've done is bypass OSC altogether and use a teensy (or another arduino product) to mimic a keyboard directly and made my own keyboard layout. That way Nomad and consoles work with it over USB no problem. Unfortunately it doesn't work with encoders* though.
*Protip, if you map an encoder to the Mouse wheel you can use it to create an intensity wheel.
