Update Firmware ColorSource Spot

Hello everybody,

I've got a question. I have a couple of ColorSource spots and they are running at firmware 1.30. I was wondering if i could update them via our console. It's a Ion Xe 20. Our do we have to buy a usb to dmx dongle?

  • you can update directly from the console. plug them into a dmx port of your ion (i believe it has to be port 1, but i'm not sure). you can't have a DMX splitter between your console and the fixture you want to update.

    download this and install it on your ion console: https://www.etcconnect.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=10737487441 . to install copy it to a usb drive (root directory) and use the software update function in the shell (shell, settings, general, software update) to install it. you might have to restart your console. you can then run the software from shell, settings, maintenance, Updaterator and update from there.
