Massive spam from the forum

I'm pretty sure they know since the spammer's entries are gone.

There's no easy answer for a global company that has to allow anybody in the world to participate in this forum while keeping spammers out . Turn off the email notification option "Creates threads in forums to which you are subscribed" to cut down on spam, albeit at the loss of email notification for legitimate posts.

We get the SPAM emails too and are working on ways to prevent or slow down this behaviour in the future. As sk8rs_dad said, there is not an easy answer to allowing users to sign up and post a legitimate question in a reasonable time frame while also preventing them from posting things we don't want to see. In the case of today's spammers, we've been able to determine that they are actual humans intent on posting and not programmed bots.

Please continue to flag items that you consider to be SPAM/Abusive to the community. To prevent accidental clicks from immediately removing content, it takes at least 2 different people flagging content for it to be brought to our attention (outside of the normal emails that you receive when subscribed to forums/replies) and it takes at least 5 different people reporting it to force it into the abuse management system.

No public community is going to be completely without SPAM and we appreciate your help in reporting the offenders to help expedite corrective action.
