Forums Upgrade

Hello All,

We've just completed another upgrade to community.etcconnect.com. As always, please let us know of any issues you might find.

Thanks,

Kirk

  • Looks like Ctrl+Clicking on forum items doesn't work to open an item in a new window. It's always opening the item in the same tab. I know I've done this before -- I had definitely done it today before the upgrade.

Right click and selecting open in new tab is working (as I'd expect).

    Chrome Version 68.0.3440.106

  • Thanks for the report. It seems to be working in Chrome 68.0.3440.106 for Mac on links that are designed to open new pages. The expanding links that don't generate new pages don't seem to be affected by the modifier key.

    I'll test on Windows tomorrow.

  • Working for me on Windows 7, Chrome Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)

  • Signatures do not appear to be appending to the end of posts any longer.

  • there is a post by kirk confirming that. signatures are no only shown when hovering over an avatar.

  • Sorry, I seem to have missed that post entirely!  My apologies.

Then perhaps the real issue is that in the settings for Signature it still calls out that it will be appended.

  • To clarify, I'm Ctrl+Clicking on things like the Forum groups themselves (like the Eos Family forum) and posts within the forum. Also repro'd it on my Win10 PC here at the office. Same Chrome version - Version 68.0.3440.106

  • The "Mark as Read" option is hard to find, I thought it had gone away. It only appears when you hover over the "Subscriptions" title bar.

    Mouse over bar:

I think the checkmark should always be visible in one form or another.

I do like that the notifications drop down only shows unread messages now. Before it was a pain to clear out all the unread ones.

  • Thanks for the report. I'll look at making that a bit easier to see.

If you click on the view all, you can also see all past and present notifications and filter by read/unread status. (Still working on getting a mark all as read button on that page...)

  • Also seeing this on Win10 Firefox 61.0.2 (64-bit)

ctrl+clicking forum groups, posts and user names opens them in the current tab.
