I am trying to use a Gadget II and having some issues that I haven't been able to resolve through troubleshooting. In summary, here's what I'm doing:
I'm plugging the Gadget II into my computer (it's a MacBook running on OS Sonoma). The LED indicator on the Gadget II lights up green when I do this. I'm then using a DMX cable to connect the Gadget II to a Chauvet 4-channel dimmer pack. When I turn on the dimmer pack, it lights up. I've put the dimmer pack in DMX mode and 4-channel mode and set the correct address number. I then open Eos Family Software (V3.something). When I send any commands from my computer through Eos Family, the channel on the dimmer pack will not turn on. I've tried substituting the DMX cables, but I still have the same problem, so I know it is not the cables. I've double checked my patching as well, so it's not a patching problem either.
I think this may be an issue with the Gadget II. I am waiting to launch Eos Family software until everything else is plugged in. When I launch Eos Family Software, I don't have an option to start in Primary, only Offline w/viz. This makes me think that my computer is not recognizing the Gadget II.
I have also tried this on a PC laptop (an Asus Zenbook) and I am having the same exact problem. What might I be doing wrong here?
