I am having problems with a Studiospot 250. The fx motor just judders, the motor is ok as is the driver. I have swapped them round and the fault moves sujesting the fault is elsewhere
Bob, can you describe in more detail what you have moved around? As I read it, for example, you moved the driver chip around and the problem follows the chip. To me that would indicate the fault being in the chip.
Feel free to contact me at, joe_haller at highend dot com
I replaced the driver chip with a known good one, the motor still behaved in the same way, I swapped the leads from the fx motor and the fx rotate motor behaved ok, the lead form the problem wheel made the good motor play up, ie the problem stayed with the fx function, it did not stay with the motor. Does this make sense?.
That is the next move, I just thought I would ask here in case it is a "brain Drain" question that everyone knows about exept me. i have a lot of experience repairing fixtures to dicsrete component level but not on any of my HES luminares cos you get what you pay fer.
