Studio Spot 250 Lamp Strike Issue (differnt one!)

So...

I have a Studio Spot 250.

It will home and not give any error messages but it's lamp will not strike.

Swapped Lamp. Good.
Swapped Logic board. Good.
Swapped Ballast. Good.
Swapped Ignitor. Good.

Found that one of the wires from ballast to ignitor has been severed at the moving head junction. Replaced wire.

Still does not work.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

  • Did you reset the lamp hours? T-beams and S-spot 250's wont fire if the lamp hours are over 2000 hours. I had this same thing sneak of on me just last week on a clients fixture. I turn it off on my rental units and totally forgot it and was about to bang my head on the wall Till Yoda Zod reminded me. In the menu go to ADD R -- INFO -- L /RS and hold for 5 seconds. Lamp hours will reset to 0 and the lamp ought to fire.

If the unit is older check the wires to the lamp socket carefully, I often find the leak just under the socket. It fires to the frame and you can get a lamp err. Just a thought.
