Is it a common thing to find the cpu/main board with burns on it. We have purchased 4 units on ebay that all have burnt boards. Is the only repair replacing the board or is there any repairs that can be made to it?
There was a problem with some SCOL boards. Some had the wrong caps in them. HES has a service bulletin on them I think. Remove the black/brown caps and replace them with the new blue ones in set locations. I did 60-80 boards years ago and still find a few.
With the bad caps it's not a matter of IF they will blow but WHEN. When they go it's usually catastrophic for the board. www.emoticons.free.fr/smileys/zz-Death/rip.gif
