Studio Spot 250, maint. questions

Hi,

I’m looking for some advice about Studio Sport 250’s. I’ve just picked up a couple used and want to make sure there in tip top condition and sort anything that needs sorting out.

Are there any parts to specifically check for ware and tear?

Any common faults of points of failure these units have or to keep an eye out for?

The rotating effects wheel (when rotating the effect’s) are rather noisy in them, is this a sign of age and ware or is this normal (if a sign of ware, any pointers on what’s going to need some tlc)?

Lastly should any of the moving parts be oiled to maintain them?, if so which, how and with what oil?

Anything else worth knowing about maintaining these fixtures?

Cheers for any help!

Yes...check the dimmer flag motors...they fail due to their proximity to the heat from the lamp after a few years.

    Noise is normal with these.

General rule of thumb with moving lights is DO NOT use oil anywhere in the fixture.....it will burn off and leave residue when the lamp heats up the fixture.
