Your other option is to make sure there is no DMX going to your fixture on powerup.
For example - unplug the DMX line for your SHOWGUNs from the console/opto splitter or whatever and then power them up.....when you are ready, plug the cable back in and then HOME them.
Though, in my experience, when you power up a showgun without DMX the lamp still strikes, the fixture will eventually shut itself down without DMX, but initial home includes a lamp strike.
Sounds kinda like a misfeature to me . . . . I wonder why they did that, when older HES stuff didn't fire without DMX present . . . . hardly seems like an improvement . . .
