I had a fixture come back like this. The HMI lamps are cheaper so thats what this group purchased for the x-spots, i wasnt around so i didnt know about it. They work, i am wondering do i need to immediately swap the lamps out with msr's or will they be ok? Also i am not sure how well they will like being run at xtreme, since some of the lights are xtreme. I'd perfer to just leave them and then replace them with the proper lamps once they reach the end of their life.
I do know that the reflector and optics were designed specifically around the MSR lamp....especially for the Xtremes, but I don't know if using this other lamp will put any undue strain on any of the electronics.
