Cyberlight SV lamp types with out damaging the light

Quick question....

As I'm sure the answer is no.....but......I was told today that you can use a msr sa lamp in a cyberlight sv without a conversion to a turbo.

My question is that I thought you could only use 1200 msr/2 or just the msr 1200?

Can you actually use the 1200 msr/sa without damaging an original non turbo sv model.

Any one got any actual facts? All the literature Ive seen only refers to the "SA" type being in turbo's. Has someone actually used a non turbo without having various heat or reflector issues?

Thx :):notworthy:

  • The SA lamp for Turbos will not physically fit into the base of the SV.

The pins on the base of the SA are two different sizes, but the regular 1200 and 1200/2 have both pins the same size.

Also the SA is shorter overall and won't sit in the reflector properly.

Everything else is identical....ignitor, ballast, etc.....the same for all types.

    Hope this helps. :)
  • Thanks....

The pins wern't obvious right away but I was guessing that there would be some MCL or LCL lengths that were factoring into this. Not to mention the obvious glass envelope differences.

  • You're welcome.

Also the Turbos use slightly different cooling fans becasue the SA generates more heat.

You can get upgrade kits for older Cybers to Turbos if that's what you want.
