I have a few Studio Spot 575's on a current rig. They were all working till one day the lamp went out on one and it will not restrike. I keep getting the "cool" message. I have tried putting in a new lamp with no luck. We took the fixture down and while in stand alone mode I used the menu to strike the lamp. When I do that the display says "strk" but the Lamp LED never lights up or blinks, no clicking, buzzing, etc. Anyone seen this?? I suspect LPS but not sure yet. The rest of the fixture seems to be working normal.
This is probably 1 of 2 things, There are 2 16 Amp Ultra fast fuses on the Lamp power supply. Most often, 1 of these fuses has blown. I see this most often when running the fixtures at 120 volt.
The fuses are available from your local High end dealer. You may be able to find them elsewhere, but they are somewhat hard to find as they are "Ultra Fast"
Otherwise, it is almost definitely the Lamp power supply itself. You will have to send it in for repair.
The only other thing it could be is if the data cable between the logic card and Lamp power supply has failed.
Let us know what you work out. Good Luck! Joshua Wood
I just send them in for repair. So I don't really know.... I just realized I forgot to mention, if it is the fuse that has gone bad, Make sure you squeeze the fuse holder together before you install the new fuse. I have seen many Lamp power supplies with burned fuse holders.
Thanks again, it was a bad fuse just one of the two just like you said. I replaced with a slightly higher one for testing and everything is working great now. I have ordered the proper fuses from lightparts. I appreciate your help you saved me a lot of time.
