Okay, I need some more help on a 575s

Now to my other 575s

I just received my lamp power supply, and igniter board back after about 300$ in repairs from HES. I installed it back in the unit, and this time the lamp attempts to strike. The bulb lights with a quick bluish-white color (the normal start color), makes the proper high pitch hum, and the turns to a whitish-orange, and then the high pitch noise "chirps" every 2 seconds while the bulb is lit, acting like it is trying to strike again...

Then the bulb goes out and I see "cool " flash up on display, and then it tries to strike agin with the same process, finally it gives me a lamp time out error...

I tried 3 different bulbs, 1 from my other working 575s and get the same results.

HELP!!!!!:aargh4:
  • :dunno: Well, weird update: :dunno:

Since the unit acted like it was strike continuously I decide to “flip” the power switch on off real fast,

……Wha-la!! The lamp stopped trying to strike, and increased to it’s full intensity. All functions work on light with no issue.

I have yet to power it off, to see if it will strike by itself.

    Any Ideas?
  • well, it was just a fluke,

unit power up like I said from last flip of the "power on/off" switch. Worked great, had it on for about 30 mins.

Then I powered of, let it set for awhile, and back to the "starting chirp" 3 times the lamp off....

Guess I will call HES tommorow.
  • Sounds like the current sensing in the supply is still bad, and it can't tell that the lamp struck. Since this just came back from service, I think HES needs to work on it some more, on their tab this time . . .

  • Yeah, I think you are right about the current sense,

I just spoke to HES, they had me swap supplies from my other 575s, to test to see if it was the logic board. But nope! the other power supply striked immediately, and lit the lamp with no problems.

I just sent the supply back, suck I had to pay for shipping back to them though....
