Cybers STOP responding ... ARG!

Yet another daunting cyber issue I can't seem to figure out... I have 3 cybers that are exhibiting the same behavior.

They will all fire up, strike, and respond to a self test program for as long as I run it with no issues. I plug in DMX, and they will respond for an unspecified period of time. At some point, they decide to stop listening to DMX, the receive light goes off. They continue to pass DMX though. They will then either decide randomly to continue to receive dmx at some point later, and all is well, or just lamp off, cool down and shut down.

I'm sure it's not a power supply board or transformer issue, as they work 100% in self test mode. That leads me to believe it's something logic related, but not with the DMX connector. Any suggestions on what I can check out? I've swapped it with other "assumed good" logics but they seem to be doing the same thing. DMX line is terminated and the rest of the cybers on the line are fine and dandy.

  • it's most likly the wire harness going from the power supply to the logic board (14pin I think). I have had this happen to many cybers, nobody has really told me what about the harness gose bad, other then heat and age. It is kinda a pain to replace cause it runs around the back of the lamp box.
