Cyberlight Turbo Issue

Hi,

I have a number of cyberlights ( about 10) eight of which are working ok on a rig, but two have the same fault.

When they power up the lamp strikes, but as soon as the unit starts its home routine the lamp douses and refuses to restrike. If we perform a reset it does the same, strike home douse!

Any ideas would be welcome, many thanks

  • If I'm right, this is a common problem. There is 12V signal from the power card to the logic card that tells the logic card that the lamp is struck. It's carried over a white header connector cable between the two cards.

If there is any corrosion build up on that circuit and it's not right at 12V, the logic card thinks that the lamp is not struck and turns off the ballast and continues to startup the fixture.

The best way to break off the corrosion is to just break and reconnect the header connectors on both the logic and power card. That is usually the quick fix for me and will last for awhile.

    Hope this helps. Take care!
