So one of my employers trackspots blew a fuse in a big way awhile back (not only blew the fuse but melted the fuse holder). I determined this was due to a bad transformer (shorted out) and replaced that (as well as the melted fuse holder). Now it works great for a couple hours, then blows the fuse again (less catastrophically, no melting). Since it takes so long to blow the fuse, it's difficult to troubleshoot. It works great and doesn't seem to draw an inordinate amount of current until about 2 hours in, then the fuse just pops...
I'm not sure what might be doing this. It's not a specific feature that causes it to happen, it seems to happen due to heat (I had the unit lamped up last night but no motion changes for a couple hours (pointed at a mirror ball), when it blew.
The only high current device that I can think of that would be affected by heat would be the SCRs for dimming the lamp. Am I on the right track?
