DL2 hardrive

Hi,
just started a new tour with some DL2 fixtures.
I have had an intermittent problem with the hard drive of one fixture, today i got an error message which looked like a windows error prompt across the screen,
"the memory 08x0000 could not be....."
I didn't get time to write it fully down.
I've swapped out the possibly faulty hard drive for a spare which is one of the newer types where the DVI connector fits on the bottom rather than the top.
The reason i'm guessing it's a hard drive error is after the error message the amber LED on the fixture didn't light at all even when the fixture had fully struck.
Is it possible to test or diagnose a hard drive when it is not fitted to a DL2 or is it worth opening up?Is there anything worth looking at inside that could have failed or come loose.

Suggestions appreciated

Regards Cormac

  • Hi Scott,
it's one of the application errors rather than BSOD but i can't give an exact number yet.
I'm running three fixtures with the same content and only getting the error message on one fixture which dosn't rule out bad content but might mean some other issue instead possibly.
Will see if the same fixture with a new hardrive has the same error and if the problem persists.
    Will post with more info,

    Regards Cormac
