For converting DVI to SDI, I've been hearing good things about Black Magic's DVI Extender. They were recently released, so there haven't been many reviews. I am going to be getting my hands on one soon and will let people know how it is.
As for DVD player, I think you should be able to use your existing D10AD's for that.
If you want the Swiss Army of converters, go with the Barco Image Pro HD. Spendy, but an indispensable tool.
