Size of content

can i upload content to DL3/DL2's that is not 1024x768?

I have files that are 480x270 , will they work? anyone ever use files that size? do they look alright? I'm going to do a collage with 4 DL3's

I've got a bit of a budget for content.. But most of the HD content is 1920x1080 .. is there somewhere thats 1024x768 specific?

Are there any free programs like after effects?
