Striking DL3s

I'm using a HOGIII and when i grab the motion and go CONTROL --> Lamp Strike it seems finicky on how long i need to hold it down to get the units to strike.

What am i doin wrong?

So, it didn't work if I just sent the lamp strike command (press and release Lamp Strike under Control)

It seems like I have to send it for a while (4 seconds to ensure 80 DMX refreshes)
Then clear programmer.
Do that again 2 more times.

Then it strikes on the third send.

Anyone from High End that can comment?
