Actually you can do it easily with DL.3: - Project a gird onto your surface with the DL.3. - Capture a picture from the DL.3s own camera (using a separate computer and S-video capture device). - Take that picture into your 3D modelling program and create a custom 3D object. - Upload to the DL.3 via CMA and assign it a DMX value. - Assign content to your new Object and you're good to go!
