I'm using a bunch of rented LUSTR+ series 2 in booms for a contemporary dance piece. I'm running them in direct mode from a Gio. They all have the same firmware. I'm experiencing slight differences in color especially in white tones (aka L201, L174, L161). Some look a bit greenish, others red. Sometimes it's looks really off, when a dancer moves past a shin and a shoulder height.
I was wondering if there is any info how these fixtures output degrade during time and if 'recalibrating' them could help me. Another option could be putting every color in palletes and calibrate myself, but this seems a lot of work.
Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks.
Direct mode isn't calibrated.
if you run them with the latest firmware (1.8.1 i think) they'll behave closer, but it's still true, that Direct mode isn't calibrated.
So actually I should run another mode, like HSI?
Correct, all other modes are calibrated so their outputs will match more closely. Or updating the fixtures to 1.8.1, as Ueli mentioned.
