Series 3 / XDLT Symbol & Color Standard?

Before the pandemic, I started working on fully color coding the lens tubes on our conventionals and Series 1 fixtures. I tried to find an industry (USITT?) standard to follow, but could only find the symbols -- it seemed that everyone had their idea of what the 'correct" color code should be. When the Series 3 / XDLT fixtures were announced, I was intrigued by the colored symbols on the Lens Tubes (see photo, apologies for the low resolution screenshots), and it led me to wonder how ETC selected these colors. I doubt we'll be able to afford many Series 3 fixtures soon, but I am now considering starting over and using these colors in our system.

Can anyone give me any more info about the color selection? Is it here to stay? Thanks!

    Hello,

    Like you, we looked for some standard in the industry first and did not really find one other than the symbols.  We did find some colors that had been used by others for some of the beam angles and chose to use those for simplicity purposes.  The others... we just picked.  

    This scheme is here to stay... for ETC anyway.
