I have had a problem with the live video input from a SONY D-30 camera into the catalyst v3 with a SDI signal. The video was delayed and it looked really poor. I now have the catalyst v4 id there new software on the v4? thanks leonard
video input is delayed and buffered by the operating system before it reaches catalyst-
so any delay depends on several things -
1. how loaded the overall system is- how well the discs are working, how many layers of playback.
2. some system configurations report poor performance. for example - the blackmagic video desktop needs to be turned off- all processor nap modes need to be disabled. ( blackmagic video desktop preferences are in System Preferences->Blackmagic )
before even beginning to get an answer.
you need to provide much more information on your setup.
a. What operating system? b. What computer? c. what video input card.
You can provide all this information by creating a system profile using the system profiler application that you can then post here.
