Dongle not working after Upgrade to V4.6

OK
I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried to up grade our Catalyst system to version 4.6 today.
Now when we go to full screen we get 2 blue lines.
I know this happens when there is no dongle installed, however it is deffinetly plugged into a USB 2.0 socket. I even trued switching USB sockets.

I tried going to Install-Register to see what was showing up for the dongle.
Apparently it says I need to update the dongle driver, so That I tried using the Dingle Driver

Dongle Driver Installer for Mac OS X 10.3.x PPC computers only [dmg] 1.6 MB

As it's OS X 10.3.9 that we have installed on our Mac G5.

I have some photos of what was showing up on the Install Register window.

Any help would be great guys.
Not going to be bac at the shop again till Wed, however will keep active in the forum to work this out.

Thanks Guys,
Kris.

  • Hello Kris,
It looks like you just downloaded the wrong driver. You need to download the driver for UB, Universal Binary. Even though your computer is not an intel machine, the software only works with the UB drivers.

    www.highend.com/support/digital_lighting/catalyst_Pro4.0.asp

Scroll down to the drivers and download
Universal Binary Dongle Driver Installer for Mac OS X 10.4.x Intel or PPC computers [dmg] 711 K

I recommend upgrading your operating system to 10.4 when possible. The 4.06 Catalyst software is not made to run on 10.3.9 so we cannot support any performance issues. You may find some things will not work as well, like visual effects.

    Have a good one,
    Leah
  • Thanks Leah,
Tomorrow I will upgrade the G5 to OS X 10.4.8
and then the universal dongle driver for OS X 10.4.x.

Thanks for the help, I'll let you know how I get on.

    Kris.
