Recalling different gateway setups in Concert

Hello

im wondering if it’s possible to recall different response gateway setups from different concert config files.

for example, for one show i want a response gateway to be setup as follows,

Port 1 - Universe 1, Port 2 - Universe 2

then for the following show I would like to open another concert config and the gateway is as follows:

Port 1 - advanced input port, Port 2 - Universe 5

I quickly tested it by saving a config, altering the port settings and then saving as another config, then opened the first config however nothing had changed in the port settings, it was still as was from the last save.

its not so much a problem to quickly change the universe on each port, however when I have AIP input ports setup it would mean having to remap that port as I need it every time it has been changed.

Does anyone know if what I’m trying to do is possible at all?

Thanks!

  • Hi  ,

Concert is the correct program to be using for this as GCE has been deprecated. As  suggested, opening the original configuration when the gateway was set to the second configuration should result in the status icon reporting red and that gateway configuration being out of sync. When opening a config from File>Open, it does not immediately push the configuration from the file to the device. You would want to right click on that device and choose the Red Up Arrow to Send Device Configuration.

One note that you may be running into if you only were checking the AIP settings - If you delete the AIP patch and also change the port from an input to an output in the same sync, it can cause the change in AIP to not be sent (since output doesn't need AIP). The gateway would retain the AIP patch data for the next time you selected AIP again. Loading a file without AIP data for that gateway may use the existing AIP data from the gateway if the port is set to output or disabled.

If you change from AIP to AIP or even change the AIP patch information to something that isn't empty in the AIP patch while still in output or disabled, it should work just fine.

Be sure your gateways and Concert are up to date.
