ETCNet2 2-Port DMX PoE HELP!!

Hey guys, I'm doing a show next week and 3 2 port nodes but no power supplies. Can anyone point me in the direction of a PoE injector that can support those nodes?

The power draw said +48V @ 1A and I am not having any luck finding the right one.

Thanks.

  • Hi Ian,

The nodes take 802.3af Power over Ethernet, which is an IEEE standard, so any switch or injector that specifies 802.3af PoE would work just fine. You can usually get them at your local office/PC supplier or online.

Also worth knowing there is a header on the back of the node that alternately allows you to supply it with +24V DC instead so you can just use a wall-wart type power supply.

  • Thanks! So the power output of the injector doesn't matter that much?

  • Here's one I found but the output is 48v @ .37 amps. the Net2 Node says 48v @ 1 amp..

  • You won't find one at 1A.  That would be 48W.  PoE only supports up to 15.4W, which is supported by that 0.37A supply you located.  Consider the node mislabeled.

  • The Net2 two port nodes consume < 5W so any 802.3AF compliant injector or switch will be able to power the nodes as Tom has pointed out.

    Have a great day!
