Modules of 4 Port Gateway

Hi all.

We are about to buy a 4 Port Gateway but for now we only need 2 Dmx Out Module. My question is do we have to buy also 2 Blank Modules now??? Late this year we are thinking to buy more 2 modules but we are discussing if they will be DMX Out or DMX In so to buy now 2 blank modules it seams strange at least.

  • Hi Pedro,

    The "Blank Module" is really just a little steel plate that fills up the hole where the modules would go. It isn't very expensive and certainly worth having to stop dust getting in there.

    If you buy a gateway with ETC part number 4260A1113 that includes 4 blank modules, and then you could just buy 2 of ETC part 4260A1009, which is the DMX output sled, to go in there, you would have all the parts you need.

    Hi Pedro,

    One other thing to bear in mind is that Gateways don't ship with power supplies as they can work with PoE or external power. If you are not using PoE then you will need to order a PS406-F power supply as well.
