20 Year old Sensor Dimmers - can they be upgraded to work with sACN?

My apologies for not being able to check our exact model number (long story)

but our 20 year old Sensor Dimmers  - probably CEM classics - can they be upgraded to work with sACN?

We have four racks worth = about 320 channels of 2.4 and some 5K.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Jacques,

thats no problem. You can upgrade your Sensor Racks to Sensor3 which  allow sACN control and ACN Feedbaclk.

Rack and dimmer moduöes can be used - just Control Processor (ECEM) and some other small parts will be replaced.

Contact your local dealer for more information and an offer.

  • ETC has retrofit guides and update packages for older Sensor racks. Retrofit isn't intended to be something an end user would do but you can have a look to see what is involved.

Depending on what you mean by "work with sACN" it could be as simple as upgrading the CEMs and backplane. If you currently don't have feedback and want to add it then that gets much more involved since your modules and the rack wiring need significant refurbishment and/or replacement.

Your best bet would be to contact ETC Support by phone so they can pull up their installation records and give you a more specific answer.

  • Got it. This is very helpful - Thanks _dad! :-D
