We have an Ion Light Board hooked up by an Ethernet cable and it switches to DMX before it gets to the instruments. We've only previously used universe 1 and I need to find out if I can use the 2nd universe after adding some more dimmer packs. How do I find this out? I tried re-patching 2/142 and the instrument doesn't have a universe choice. How does the instrument (that only goes to 512) know to respond if its patched to a second universe? My Ion is set up for 2 universes- I've checked the shell and the basic info about allowed output addresses (1-65536). I have architecture lights using some of my channels. I'm familiar with patching nomenclature. any help is appreciated.
