Cat5e Used As DMX

Hi Everybody,

I am attempting to make my own outdoor dmx cable out of Cat5 outdoor cable and xlr connectors. But I can't find Cat5 outdoor cable, but however I can find Cat5e cable. Would that work instead of Cat5?

Yes, it would work - anything cat5 "or better" is suitable for carrying DMX. Although note, DMX should be in conduit or shielded cable, so you should use Shielded cat cable (STP) if you want a portable cable. If you don't have a shield you're at risk of interference.
