What exactly is the Ethernet Bus

I have an Atlas that I've been programming but I am setting up Ethernet Triggers and an option is the Ethernet Bus. I thought this corresponded to physical ports but there are 5 bus and only 2 ports.

So when I select between the 5 Buses what exactly am I selecting? Google and the manual hasn't been a help as they mention the Bus but never explain it.

  • The Ethernet Bus is where you setup which kind of input you want into each buss, eg UDP or TCP and port number, so you can have upto 5 different input connections from differen't systems.

Have a look on the manual page below under Ethernet but the settings are found under the controller Interfaces in the network tab.

  • I get the Ethernet Bus is where you setup what signal type, but what is the Ethernet Bus itself? Do I just have 5 different types of input protocols or is the Bus something to do with the underlying Ethernet structure of the device/network.

  • The Ethernet bus in Mosaic has nothing to do with the external network its just the internal way the controller passes incoming messages from the network port to your triggers list.
