'etcNET' and 'etcNET2 dmx node'

Hello folks,

I've got three etcnNET2 nodes configured as 2 outputs and 1 input.  I'd love to free up that input node so that I could have 3 outputs.  It seems perfectly reasonable that I could do so and use the etcNET port into the insight3 I'm using.  Is this possible?  How to do it?

Thanks.

  • First off, the Insight III, as well as the Expression II&III and Express consoles, only talk Net1, so the nodes you have cannot function in Net2 mode and get data from the console.  In order for the consoles to function on a Net2 system, you'd need an Emphasis server.

I would suspect that if you are using/have used the Net2 nodes as video nodes off the Insight, then the nodes are running in backwards compatible Net1 mode, which they are designed to do.

Any configuring of the Net2 nodes, is done via the Net2 Configuration Editor software, which is a download off the ETC site.
