I have several Porthport nodes mixed into my system of mostly ETC gear. Two of those in two different spaces seem to be causing very sporadic very brief flashes in certain certain fixtures. One of the fixture types is a PLCyc. The other scenario is that our Lustrs do it when some old Colorado 1's are in the DMX string.
Both of these nodes have the DMX speed at Medium where it was set to try to head off this issue. I am going to change them to Slow and see if that helps. My question is what is the benefit of having the highest speed?. Will I be able to notice any difference if they are all set at slow? Should I expect other fixtures to start acting up because of it?
Years ago, we fixed a similar issue by disabling RDM everyhere.
