Net3 Show Control Gateway stuck on "Network Stack Starting"

We just received a Net3 Show Control Gateway bought second hand, and it won't start. It's stuck at "network stack starting."

I see through the network router's configuration that some device with a MAC address very similar to another Show Control Gateway has been assigned an IP address, and I can ping the device at that IP address, so I think it's kind of working, but Concert doesn't see the gateway.

Is this a common issue with an easy fix, or is this gateway busted?

There are a couple of circuit boards inside the Net3 ShowControl Gateway, and it's possible that the two main boards have become disconnected. You could unplug it from power and network and take the covers off to see if that ribbon cable is disconnected at either end. If not, it likely needs some other kind of repair.

Interestingly, when I connected it to a network with only my laptop and the gateway it started up fine. Which I suppose means that there is something on the network that it's unhappy about. Probably the wifi router serving as the DHCP server.
