B113 - Toggling XYZ mode results in new positions with mixed referenced and absolute data

I'm having an issue, which is also the same in 3.1

When selecting a range of cues in blind, and toggling channels to enable XYZ mode, if channels have a mix of absolute and reference data between cues, enabling XYZ mode seems to actually be changing the values of pan and tilt. I thought the XYZ mode toggle would not result in data change.

Thanks!

  • Hi  , thank you for sending me the showfile.  I was able to reproduce the issue both in your file and from scratch, so I filed [EOS-53360] Toggling XYZ Format on a range of cues with tracks causes fixtures to change pan/tilt output

This issue is new to v3.1.0 / v3.1.1.  (It was difficult to toggle XYZ in blind across a range of cues in v3.0.2, but I did not see the same issue there).

For the time being, I will recommend that you toggle between XYZ and Pan/Tilt only at the Move Instruction cues (where XYZ or P/T values are blue or green), and avoid doing it on long ranges of cues.  Tracking does correctly follow that individual change - it gets weird / wrong when toggling across a Move Instruction cue.
