50A Relay Cards?

Hi folks,

I'm looking at replacing my cyc circuits with LED fixtures.  Right now the unit's they would replace operate on 50A dimmer cards. (One channel per card.)  Is there such a thing as a 50A relay card that I can use as a direct replacement?

I probably don't actually need that much capacity, but obviously the rack is only wired for one circuit per channel so it seems a waste to put in regular 20A relays and only use half of them.

  • The relay module is only available in 15 and 20 amp versions.

You might ask your local dealer about the availability of used 15 and 20 amp relays (I know ETC has 1 @15 amp currently available). You can also look at Used Lighting

    http://www.usedlighting.com/14244/etc-r20-dual-20a-relay-module-for-sensor-and-unison-dimmers

This might ease the pain of only being able to use ½ the module. Please also not that if you do end up going with a 15/20 amp relay, you might need to make a modification to your rack as the load lugs for 50amp are different from 15/20 amp. (this will also give you to option of adding a wire run for the extra output you will have available)
