sensor dimmer not shutting off.

Hi All,

I have an sr48+ rack with d20 dimmers controlled by a CEM+.

Tuesday 1/23 during a dimmer check, dimmer 124 powered on and has since not powered off. today is Thursday 1/25.

  1. from the console i have checked that dimmer/channels are not parked. release all = light stays on
  2. dmx has been disconnected. console ( Expression 3) has been powered down.= light stays on
  3. turned off all panic stations.= lights on
  4. checked set and release levels and they are uniform down the rack.
  5. multiple dimmers in slot result in light on.
  6. original dimmer in different slot shows normal function.

the only way i can turn off the dimmer is by setting  it to off, or to 0. or tripping the breaker.

when i trip the breaker the signal light stays on but the circuit powers down.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.

any ideas?

  • So after you disconnected DMX, did you reset the CEM+ Processor? This can be done by pressing the upper Hand left button on the CEM+

Because it may still have Hold Last Look of DMX, and hold that value which means the value could be coming from DMX.

If you disconnect DMX, and you reset the CEM+ and then it starts back up and that channel still Comes on,

then check in the ABOUT->DIMMER Menu Point in CEM+.

If will Show you the Controlling source for that channel at that Moment.

Maybe there is some Network control of the Rack? Or another DMX Control of the CEM+?
